Ekcians GreenLyf Foundation is an indigenous registered non-government organization devoted to building climate resilient economies and indigenous communities. The main focus is to influence this through supporting innovation for green jobs, climate capacity building, climate action and policy advocacy.
GreenLyf’s focus is around sustainable agricultural practices, advancing access to clean and renewable energy services, promotion of circular economy, building capacity for ESG reporting and advancing non formal training for green careers for young professionals and corporate entities.
We have organized multiple trainings attracting over 500 participants, empowering young professionals and corporate enterprises with the knowledge to become climate aware and innovate for a sustainable environment.
Our initiatives focus on reducing carbon emissions, conserving resources, and adopting sustainable practices, ensuring fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people in environmental decision-making.
We mentor young innovators to develop sustainable solutions such as eco-friendly packaging and eco-tourism. Our green innovation initiatives are designed to create green jobs and enhance environmental conservation.
We started as a student-led climate awareness project at Makerere University Business School in 2020. Driven by five enthusiastic students, the project spurred numerous climate awareness programs across universities. Our notable events include the 2021 Pre-COP policy dialogue at Makerere University Business School. These initiatives led to the formation of the GreenLyf Network, influencing over 10,000 students, and evolving into Ekcians GreenLyf Foundation, a recognized Non-Governmental Organization.
